He went to Dhaka, Bangladesh to transfer knowledge and technology to the doctors in the nation and worked as Clinical Director and Chief Cardiac Surgeon in a reputed private medical college and hospital in Dhaka for 3 years.
He performed beating heart surgery for the first time in Bangladesh, also played a leading role in bringing down the mortality rate of coronary artery surgeries from 20 percent to less than 1 percent. After joining Aster MIMS family, Dr Murali has performed more than 800 coronary artery bypass surgeries in less than three years. He was at the forefront to lead more than 3500 open heart procedures with 1300 CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) on beating heart with less than 0.5% mortality. By utilizing his brain skills, he has also invented a Proximal Anastomotic device named VETTATH ANASTOMOTIC OBTURATOR. This is used in the anastomosis of the top end of vein graft in CABGS without using the conventional side clamp to isolate the Aorta. This has reduced the incidence of stroke in bypass patients to zero percent. It has been accepted in the US & Australia, where this paper was presented and published in International journals.
